Here in is the issue, the 824 does NOT have any kind of phantom and is
lacking in it's group functions.
I believe you can have an extension group, but it does not ring as a group.
It will hunt.
I have a carpet store with this problem. They wanted all the sales
extensions to ring together when someone presses "1 for sales" in the auto
attendant.
We tried using a hunt group but that didn't work. They ended up delaying the
auto attendant and letting the incoming calls ring.
The cheapest alternative if they really need ring groups is to replace the
TA824 with an old TD816 or TD1232.
Then you will be all set up to use the same phones... but if they need
caller id you'll have to find a card for that too. Or get them to go with
the TAW848.
